The Apple Springs Neighborhood in Leander, TX is a favorite for those looking for peace and quiet. It’s known for acreage, hills, and large homes. It’s one of my favorite secret neighborhoods.
Leander is only 26 miles from downtown Austin and you can get more home for your buck. Many newcomers to Austin prefer to live in one of the smaller cities with commuting distance. This is exactly where I practice real estate: Cedar Park, Leander, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Georgetown, and Liberty Hill, Texas.
This community dates back to 1986 but you can still find property from time to time if you’d like to build. Otherwise, you may luck into a resale property. In today’s market these homes sell quickly and for a premium.
Living in Apple Springs feels like you’re miles and miles from the hustle and bustle of the city. Yet, you are only 10-15 minutes from conveniences like: H-E-B Grocery Store, Smokey Mo’s BBQ, Burger King,
Chic-fil-A, and Lowes. Another few minutes takes you to Cedar Park which has shopping and restaurants galore.
Students in the neighborhood attend Leander ISD schools. Namely, Bagdad Elementary, Leander Middle, and Glenn High School. Leander ISD is an award winning school district and one of the most desirable for new comers with kids in school.
Since Apple Springs is a hilly, woodsy neighborhood most homeowners are not able to see their neighbors. Lots mostly range from 2.5 acres to 4 acres. Home prices today run in the $300’s, $400’s, and $500’s. Be prepared to deer to walk through your yard morning and evening. Road Runners are a frequent visitor and I’ve even seen wild turkeys.
The favorite feature for most residents of the community are the hill country views. Who wouldn’t love this?
