I was sharing the news of a successful sale in the Towncenter Neighborhood in Cedar Park, TX. I knocked on the door about 11:45 am and a sleepy-eyed guy opened it.
Me: “Hi, I’m Dan Forbes, REALTOR™ with RE/MAX 1 and I wanted to let you know about this home I just sold in your neighborhood (handing him a flyer). I’m still getting calls from interested buyers and was wondering, ‘Have you thought about selling.'”
Him: Oh, I’m a REALTOR® too. I’m with (Big Company)….as he pulled up his sweatpants and brushed the sleep out of his eyes.
That left me wondering. Is the REALTOR® you know sitting around in sweatpants?
Look, I have nothing against sweatpants. I own sweatpants. I get up at 5:00am, pull on my sweatpants and take my dog for a 30 minute walk.
But, when I finish my morning routine of goal writing, affirmations, and personal development, I put my head down and go to work for my clients. I’m on the phone at 7:45am looking for buyers for my listings or looking for Sellers I can help.
