In this week’s video I answer the question, How Can I Help My Adult Kid Buy a Home in Austin?

I was on the phone with someone this week who posed that question.  “He said, my son wants to buy a home in Austin and I’m willing to help him.  I know his credit score is low and his income probably insufficient.  How can I help him?”

We talked about several things to consider:

  1. Are you willing to have your name on the real estate contract and accept all that implies?
  2. Are you willing to have your name on the deed?
  3. What about the note?
  4. Are you willing to apply to be a co-borrower and all that implies?
  5. Does your son have a great Realtor here in Austin?
  6. Options for closing remotely?

Please watch this week’s video and share this post with someone who might be interested.
