I was on the phone with someone this week who posed that question. “He said, my son wants to buy a home in Austin and I’m willing to help him. I know his credit score is low and his income probably insufficient. How can I help him?”
We talked about several things to consider:
- Are you willing to have your name on the real estate contract and accept all that implies?
- Are you willing to have your name on the deed?
- What about the note?
- Are you willing to apply to be a co-borrower and all that implies?
- Does your son have a great Realtor here in Austin?
- Options for closing remotely?
