Want to sell your house without a REALTOR®? Here’s what you must consider.

I guess you COULD cut your own hair. In fact, there was a time when I had a lot more hair than this. My wife, who was a trained cosmetologist, would cut my hair for me. Unfortunately, she wasn’t always willing when I wanted it cut.

I get  impatient sometimes.

I asked her to cut it.  She put me off.

So, I decided to try to cut it myself. Big mistake.  Remember I had a lot more hair then.

I took a hair trimmer much like this one, bent over, and pushed it across my scalp. When I looked up I saw that I had forgotten to put the guard on it. Yikes!

I had plowed a reverse mohawk down the center of my scalp. Bald! Right down the middle.

I walked into the living room and asked my wife, “Can you fix this?” She laughed for 15 minutes straight before she could say, “No, I can’t fix it, but I can finish shaving it for you.” So she did.  I was bald until my hair grew out.

I learned my lesson. And, often reminded myself, “Dan, don’t try to cut your own hair.”

Can you sell your house yourself? Some do.  Why not you?  Consider this.

I guess you COULD take out your own appendix if necessary. I guess you COULD represent yourself in court. I guess you could take over the cockpit and fly yourself where you wanted to go.

And, I guess you COULD try to sell your house yourself. But, what would you take the risk to do that?

Does attempting to sell your your house, your largest asset without professional help really sound like a good idea.

Your home is probably one of your largest assets. Without professional help, selling it could potentially cost you a lot of time and money you do want to lost.

The National Association of REALTORS® says this, “Statistics show that selling your home with the assistance of a professional real estate agent will garner you a higher profit, enough to cover the commission as well as put more money in your pocket. According to the National Association of Realtor®’s 2016 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, the average FSBO sales price was $185,000, while the average price for a home represented by an agent was $245,000. That’s a difference of $60,000! “Houses for sale by owner leave a seller to do the negotiating. You’ll be relying on your own skill to finalize a contract, leaving yourself open to potential legal problems and a smaller profit when all is said and done.” Article

Look, I’ve sold hundreds and hundreds of homes. And, my track record for the last 2 years has been that my listings sell in an average of 15 days for 100.1% of asking price.  I have the experience, skills, and negotiating savvy to get top dollar for my clients.

Surely, if you’re thinking about selling your house, it’s worth 20 minutes of your time to talk to me.  I’m easy to reach at 512-516-4666.
