Any agent can list your home. Only a powerful agent with a proven marketing strategy can get it sold fast and for top dollar.
What I mean by that is that in this day of discount agents who solicit business in the market place by offering a lower and lower listing commission the public needs to be warned. Listing a home is as simple as signing a listing agreement and then having the agent put the property into the local Multiple Listing Service.
I can train and 8 year old to do that. But that’s not a strategy. If that’s all that it took to sell a home I’d be a BILLIONAIRE.
The truth is that it takes a lot more. Having a proven powerful marketing strategy is among the things it takes to sell a home for top dollar in today’s market.
There are some agents who have a marketing strategy which consists of 3 P’s.
- Plop a sign in the yard
- Put the listing into the MLS
- Pray that it sells
