Is your real estate agent a Dabbler? That’s the question that came to my mind while doing some door to door work this week.
Inventory (homes for sale) is so scarce right now here in Cedar Park an Austin, Texas that I’m out doing some door to door work. Today, I’m in a neighborhood called Westside Preserve at Buttercup Creek. I love working in this neighborhood.
I few moments ago I knocked on a door and a guy in shorts answers the door. I introduce myself….
“Hi, I’m Dan Forbes with RE/MAX 1 and I’d like to ask for your help. We recently sold another home in your neighborhood…”
He cut me off, “Hey, I’m a real estate agent too. I’ve got my license, but I just sort of dabble in it.”
There’s a lot of real estate agents just like this guy. In fact, in our Austin Board of Realtors we have over 13,000 members.
When you are thinking about listing your home for sale, or when you’re thinking about buying a home ask yourself if you want to work with a dabbler or with a full time professional, like me.
My day begins at 5:00am and may not end until 7:00pm because I want to provide the most excellent service to my clients. I don’t dabble.
So, if you are looking for a trustworthy, hardworking real estate agent, give me a call 512-516-4666.
Sometimes when I mentioned door to door work someone will say, “You actually do that?” My answer is always, “Well, yes, I do.”
I do door to door work for two reasons. First, If I have a listing in the neighborhood I want to contact the neighbors and let them know about it. Often, someone already living in the neighborhood knows of someone who would like to move into the neighborhood. That’s why it’s part of my marketing strategy.
Secondly, if it’s a neighborhood I really enjoy working in I’ll try to meet folks who live there. Hey, you never know when someone is thinking about moving.
Knock, knock.
