Hundreds of homes are coming off the market unsold each week here in Austin and too many agents are lying to their sellers. That’s a shocking claim, but hear me out.
I talk with people every day whose homes come off the market unsold. We call these expired listings or withdrawn listings. The seller is puzzled, “Why didn’t my home sell?” I look at their listing and ask the same question.
Often, I’ll ask the seller, “When your agents was calling you every week to give you feedback what did they say was the reason the home wasn’t selling?”
I hear similar answers, “They told me no one was buying right now because of high interest rates. Or, that the market is bad right now. Or, nothing is selling.”
Lie. Lie. Lie.
