Is the perfect home really out there? What is the one way to know that you’ve found the right home when you’re a buyer out there looking at homes? It’s easy to get confused because sometimes there is an abundance of homes to look at. At other times, homes sell so quickly, there’s only a few.
Our Austin, Texas real estate market suffers from a lack of inventory. There are too few homes available for the number of buyers in the market. Homes sell quick. Multiple offers are common.
Are you like the buyer I was with recently? They would look at a few homes, and they would say, “Well, Let’s wait and see what else comes on the market.” Then we’d look at a few more homes, and then it would be, “Well, Let’s wait to see what else comes on the market.”
They were waiting for the perfect home to present itself.
When you are looking at homes for sale know this, there is never a “perfect” home out there. It’s always about what can you live with or what can you live without. There are pros and cons to every home. There are always trade offs.
But here’s the number one way to know that you found the right home:
Ask yourself this question,
Is this a home that I can see myself living in… happily.
Can you see yourself sitting at that dining table happily enjoying a meal? Can you see yourself sitting on the back porch or the veranda or the lanai happily enjoying a cup of coffee? Can you see yourself driving through the neighborhood up the driveway and being happy because you’re home.
If you can see yourself happy in that home, It’s probably the perfect home for you.
